Widely known as an actor in this day and age, Marzuk Russell is also a poet and lyricist. While being a high schooler in 1984-85, Marzuk used to write poems and send it to local newspapers, as well as to the newspapers in Dhaka to be printed. His first poem was published in a local magazine from Khulna named 'Janabarta'. Subsequently Marzuk casually kept writing in different newspapers and magazines. 'Shanting Chara Songjog Nishidhwa' is the first poetry written by him. Marzuk debuted to acting through the video-fiction titled 'Aynamohol' directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, in the year 2000. Eventually, Marzuk acted in several popular TV dramas and few films, such as - Choruibhati, 420, House Full, Bachelor (movie) and Made In Bangladesh (2007).
