Tauquir Ahmed is a Bangladeshi actor, architect and director. Tauquir made his debut to television as a lead actor in the early 1980s. He has appeared in several dramas since then. Some of his notable TV dramas include - Firiye Dao Oronno, Harjit, hasuli, Gopon Kotha Chhilo Bolbar, Ondhokare Jonaki, Sonali Danar Chil . Meanwhile, in 1995 Tauquir had training in theatre direction from Royal Court Theatre, London and acting (Stage) from ITI training, University of Theatre of Nations, in 1989. In 2002, Tauquir completed his diploma in Film from New York Film Academy as well. Tauquir Ahmed debuted as a film director through the film "Joyjatra" in 2004, for which he has won Bangladesh National Film Awards for Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Producer. Again in 2016, he won the Best Film, Best Actor in a Negative Role and Best Story Award for the movie Oggatonama. Later on Tauquir has directed several other mentionable films, which are - Rupkothar Golpo (2006), Daruchini Dip (2007), Haldaa (2017) Fagun Haway (2019) and Sphulingo (2021).
